The STIHL AP Battery System welcomes two highly anticipated new additions to the range this year; the MSA 300 CO battery-powered chainsaw and the AP 500 S battery, which is the power.
Designed for professional users and arborists, the new MSA 300 CO sets a new performance benchmark as the most powerful battery-powered chainsaw in STIHL’s growing battery range, making felling and cutting jobs easier transversal of large trees.
With a battery capable of delivering 3kW of power and plenty of torque, the MSA 300 CO is comparable in performance to the popular MS 261 CM, one of our versatile petrol chainsaws. The STIHL MSA 300 CO comes standard with the 16-inch Light 04 chain guide, but it is also available with a 14- or 18-inch chain guide (just like the MS 261 CM). The RS Pro chain cuts 20% faster than the standard Rapid Super (RS) chainsaw chain due to the narrower kerf of the teeth, maximizing the amount of work achievable on each load.
The new STIHL AP 500 S battery is one of five batteries in the AP system and has been designed specifically to power the MSA 300 CO. This is the first battery in the AP system to use laminated battery cells capable of delivering an impressive 3 kW power output.
Although it was designed specifically for use with the MSA 300 CO, it is also compatible with all models of STIHL’s growing AP battery system with approximately 20% longer working times compared to the AP 300 S. The AP 500 S has STIHL Connected built into the battery box as well, so no matter what machine you use it with, you’ll always be able to see how much work it’s done.
Users can adjust the maximum chainsaw speed on the MSA 300 CO to three different levels ranging from 24 and 30 m/s which are controlled using an easy-to-reach button for the user. This allows the user to maximize battery life by adjusting the chain speed according to the task at hand. For example, to cut small logs to size, level 1 will be sufficient. For felling, level 2 or 3 would be suitable depending on the size of the tree and trunk.
All STIHL tools are designed with the user in mind, and the MSA 300 CO is no different. This is the first battery powered chainsaw with a complete anti-vibration system, making it extremely comfortable to use as it has the lowest vibration values of all our battery and gas handle chainsaws back. It also offers all the added comfort and safety features users have come to expect from STIHL chainsaws, such as captive sprocket nuts, an adjustable chain oil pump, a tool-less oil cap, and durable, magnesium components. durable.
The notification cockpit on the rear handle displays useful information regarding the status of the chain brake, the on/off status of the machine and even if the machine needs time to cool down. The motor unit is air-cooled and protected from dirt by an easily accessible fleece air filter, allowing it to be cleaned regularly, helping to prevent the chainsaw from overheating. We recommend cleaning the filter with STIHL VarioClean, our cleaning spray specially designed to remove dirt and oil residue. Spray on both sides and leave for 10 minutes, then rinse gently with water and let dry. The MSA 300 CO also comes with a built-in oil sensor, reminding the user when it is time to refuel, which keeps the bar and chain lubricated, extending their life.
Another new feature is automatic motor derating when the battery needs to be recharged or when the unit temperature exceeds a set point. Instead of potentially cutting halfway through a cut, the MSA 300 CO reduces amperage, temporarily reducing performance, which then gives you enough time to complete the current cut.
Finally, the STIHL MSA 300 CO is ready to use with Smart Connector 2 A, a smart hour meter that transmits useful data from the machine to the user’s phone, including total autonomy, operating history execution and even a recording of power levels. were used.
The MSA 300 CO will be available from mid-November only from your local STIHL dealer.
